Construction is nearly complete for the twelve-story mixed-use Bowes Center at 200 Van Ness Avenue in the Civic Center, San Francisco. The project has already opened its doors to students from the San Francisco Ballet and will eventually offer free student performances to the general public. Mark Cavagnero Associates is responsible for the design.
The 33-story office building at 333 Market Street is the 39th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built with a rooftop height of 472 feet tall. The skyscraper was built between 1979 and 1981 by developer Shorenstein Properties in SoMa, San Francisco. With diamond-shaped precast concrete columns extending uninhibited from the street to the parapet, the modernist tower is the design of Los Angeles-based Gin Wong & Associates.
Construction is underway for a new four-story mixed-use cultural institution at 827-829 Kearny Street in Chinatown, San Francisco. The structure has topped out, with facade installation underway. The project, sponsored by the Marchese Company, will become an expansion to an existing Buddhist temple, the Buddha’s Universal Church.
The Sunnyvale Planning Commission has reviewed updated plans for the Moffett Park Specific Plan. The proposal could bring between 16,000 to 20,000 new residential units and millions of square feet of new office space to 1,156 acres beside the Moffett Federal Airfield and Moffett Field golf course. The proposal would impact land primarily owned by Google, Jay Paul Co., and Lockheed Martin.
The wood structure is starting to rise for the four-story residential development at 410 China Basin Street in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The project, dubbed Block 9 in the neighborhood master plan, broke ground in November of last year, with the event announced by Mayor London Breed. BRIDGE and Community Housing Partnership are joint developers for the project.
