633 Folsom Street Expansion and Reclad Nearly Complete, SoMa, San Francisco

Recent images show that the recladding and five-story expansion of the office building at 633 Folsom Street, SoMa is nearly complete. The new design is by Gensler, an international architecture firm, with development by the building owner, Swig Company. A future tenant has already been secured by CBRE, Asana, a tech company owned by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz. Occupancy is expected soon.

Permits Filed for 42-Story 95 Hawthorne Street, SoMa, San Francisco

A 42-story residential tower planned for 95 Hawthorne Street has made another step towards its realization. Permits have been filed for the new building in SoMA, San Francisco, starting the process for construction to begin. A total of 412 dwelling units are planned for the building, a twenty-unit increase since its approval in the second half of 2019. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill will be responsible for the design.

Renderings Reveal Futuristic San Jose City College Center Complex by Steinberg Hart

Renderings have been released, showing the futuristic design planned for the Career Education Complex at San Jose City College, San Jose. These new designs come from Steinberg Hart, an international architecture firm with roots in San Jose extending back to the 1950s. Once complete, it will offer facilities for career education courses and a welcoming environment for the rest of the campus. The spaceship-like complex is expected to cost $112 million for completion.

Senior Housing for 2800 Florin Road, Meadowview, Sacramento

Permits have been filed for a new senior-housing project at 2800 Florin Road, in Meadowview, Sacramento. The six-building permit would add a total of 150 units to a currently vacant 4.5-acre lot fifteen minutes from the city center. The Christian Church Homes development team is leading the project. The CCH already run 2,390 units at thirty sites across three states. With this latest project, they will be creating a new residential enclave in a mostly suburban district, with the first one hundred units built for $36 million.
