UCSF Psychiatry Building Finishing Up in Dogpatch, San Francisco

The UCSF Nancy Friend Pritzker Psychiatry Building has finished and is being prepared for opening at 2130 3rd Street in Dogpatch, San Francisco. As part of the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, it is one of the first medical facilities in the country to integrate physical and mental health care, interdisciplinary academics, and research. The project was developed in a joint venture with The Prado Group and SKS Partners.

Supervisors Approve Shortened Plans for 3832 18th Street, Mission District, San Francisco

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has approved five-story plans for 3832 18th Street in the Mission District. The project has been shortened from a previous application with six floors but still has 19 group housing units. Vanguard Properties is responsible for the applicant, operating through M-J SF Investments LLC.

Proposed 24-Story Gateway Tower Will Create 300 Affordable Units in Downtown San Jose

Core Companies has now purchased the necessary property for Gateway Tower, a proposed 24-story residential tower at 470 South Market Street in Downtown San Jose. The project would create 300 affordable units, with funding coming from Santa Clara County. DLR Group is the project architect.

New Renderings for 2440 Shattuck Avenue, Downtown Berkeley

New renderings have been revealed for a proposed eight-story mixed-use building at 2440 Shattuck Avenue in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. The project, named The Lair @ Haste, uses the State Density Program to build a total of 40 new homes, ten more than base zoning would permit. Bill Schrader of the Austin Group is the project developer. The project will be reviewed later today by the city’s Design Review Committee.

Demolition Permits Issued for Park Habitat at 180 Park Avenue, Downtown San Jose

Demolition permits have been issued by the City of San Jose for 180 Park Avenue, allowing construction to start on the 20-story office tower, Park Habitat. The new high-rise is part of a flurry of proposals that aim to cultivate greater urban density in Downtown San Jose. The project is part of a multi-project master plan drafted by Westbank and Urban Community.

CEQA Notice for Mission Point Project in Santa Clara

A CEQA Notice has been published for the proposed Mission Point Project in the City of Santa Clara. The publication follows a community meeting held by the city with the developer and the community in late March. In its latest reduced iteration, plans for Mission Point are to build over three million square feet of offices, 1,800 new homes, retail, and a childcare facility. Kylli is the project sponsor, with Gensler responsible for the design.

Updated plans for 2065 Kittredge Street are up for public review by the Berkeley Design Review Committee. The eight-story project would replace three low-rise commercial buildings with an off-campus student housing building in the heart of Downtown Berkeley. CA Ventures, an international development firm based in Chicago, is responsible for the application.

Construction Underway on UCSF Research Building at S.F. General Hospital

Construction work has topped out with facade installation imminent on the latest addition to the UCSF Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, or ZSFG. The five-story building is rising at the corner of 23rd and Vermont Street in the Mission District, on what was once a surface parking lot. The UC Board of Regents is responsible for the project.

Commercial New Building Permits Filed for 1617 J Street, Midtown Sacramento

Commercial new building permits have been filed for a seven-story residential development at 1617 J Street in Midtown Sacramento. If approved, the project would add 198 new homes near the city’s heart, on top of roughly 40,000 square feet of commercial retail. SKK Development is the project applicant.

Vornado Taps Fogarty Finger to Refresh Two Floors in 555 California

Vornado Realty Trust has commissioned Fogarty Finger, a New York City-based architecture firm, to revamp the interiors of 555 California Street, located in San Francisco’s Financial District. The firm will oversee the refurbishment of the 34th and 46th floors to entice new tenants into one of the city’s most prominent office buildings. Work is expected to finish by July this year.
