555 California Street is the sixth tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area, planned or built. Formerly known as the Bank of America Building, the distinct carnelian granite-clad tower stands 779 feet above the San Francisco Financial District streets. 555 California was briefly the tallest building in the country west of the Mississippi River when finished in 1969. Vornado Realty Trust and the Trump Organization are joint property owners.

New renderings have been published for a high-end single-family home at 315 Rutledge Street in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood. The project would replace a vacant lot with three floors over a basement. Eric Staten of Does Architecture, a San Francisco-based firm, will be managing the design.

New aerial photographs show construction is wrapping up for 24th and Harrison, the 18-story mixed-use development at 277 27th Street in Northgate-Waverly. The project is the largest new addition to the neighborhood just north of the downtown core, and its scale reflects Oakland’s grand appetite for new housing. Holland Partner Group is responsible for the development.

New Renderings Revealed for 419 4th Street, Jack London Square, Oakland

New renderings have been revealed for a seven-story mixed-use development at 419 4th Street in Oakland’s Jack London Square neighborhood. Updated designs for the six-story extension introduce a beam and column grid that complements the preserved ‘Noodle Factory’ facade. Lowney Architecture is the project architect.

Draft EIR Published for Head-Royce School Expansion, Oakmore, Oakland

The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for the South Campus expansion of Head-Royce, a selective private K-12 school in Oakmore, Oakland. The proposal would expand the campus size, nestled in the Oakland Hills, from 14-acres to 22-acres and increase the educational capacity of the institution by over three hundred students. Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill is responsible for the master plan and architecture.

Foundation Permit Filed for 2015 Telegraph Avenue, Downtown Oakland

New foundation permits have been filed for the proposed residential tower at 2015 Telegraph Avenue in Downtown Oakland. Now named X Oakland, the building will rise 18 stories to add 114 new homes a block away from the 19th Street Oakland BART Station. The property is now being developed by X Company, a Chicago-based co-working real estate developer.

Development permits have been filed for a proposed new warehouse at 3600 Alameda Avenue, located by the tidal canal separating Oakland and Alameda. The project will rise 51 feet high to yield 427,600 square feet of floor area. Indianapolis-based Duke Realty is responsible for the application.

Construction Expected Soon for 1500 S Street, Downtown Sacramento

Construction is expected to begin soon for 1500 S Street, a six-story mixed-use development in Downtown Sacramento. After $59 million has been secured, developers are expected to add 137 new homes to the city. Anthem Properties is responsible for the development.

The development will build two new commercial spaces and four apartments. Stanley Lee is listed as the property owner and project applicant.

Funding Secured for 600 South First Street, Downtown San Jose

The developers for 600 South First Street have secured enough funding for the development of a mixed-use tower in Downtown San Jose. Recent reporting by George Avalos of the Bay Area News Group confirms Scape, the international company focused on student and market-rate housing, has been loaned as much as $182 million by Madison Realty Capital. The proposal is expecting to create 336 new homes.
