If complete, the project could replace the current farmland and orchards with over a thousand apartments and retail. Hanover Company, Pacific Companies, and SummerHill Homes are jointly responsible for the development.
One of the tallest mass timber buildings in the world could rise in Oakland. New development permits have been filed for 1523 Harrison Street, which aims to bring almost five hundred homes across 28 floors to the small parcel in Downtown Oakland. oWow is responsible for the application as architect, developer, and property owner.
Preliminary permits have been filed for a seven-story apartment complex at 830 East Charleston Road in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The project will replace three low-slung commercial structures with a hundred homes. Sand Hill Property Company is the project sponsor.
Construction has started for two affordable housing complexes rising on Transbay Block 2 in East Cut, San Francisco. While site work has been active since the start of this year, its official groundbreaking ceremony was held late last month. Once complete, the block will add 335 new apartments in the high-rise neighborhood by Rincon Hill.
New renderings have been revealed alongside building permits filed for a six-story affordable housing complex at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, Alameda County. The project will replace a portion of the Berkeley Adult School’s parking lot with over a hundred homes. Berkeley Unified School District is the property owner, while Abode Communities and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates will be joint developers.
