Recent permits have been filed for a proposed six-story mixed-use building at 1701 R Street as part of the larger Ice Blocks development in Midtown, Sacramento. The new construction would round out the larger Ice Block development with dozens of new apartments and retail around existing mixed-use buildings. Heller Pacific is responsible for the development.
A preliminary application has been filed seeking the approval of a residential project proposed at 681 27th Street in the Hoover-Foster neighborhood in Oakland. The project proposal includes the development of a three-story residential building on a vacant lot. Gunkel Architecture is responsible for the design concepts.
The eighth tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area planned or built is the Millennium Tower, a 645-foot tall residential building at 301 Mission Street in SoMa, San Francisco. Developed by Millennium Partners, the project was built between 2005 and 2009 opened as the tallest residential tower west of Chicago. Since 2016, the building has garnered international news for both tilting and sinking.
AvalonBay Communities is planning to replace the surface parking of an existing residential community with new housing in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. The proposal would retain all 402 residences at 555 West Middlefield Road while creating 323 new homes and an amenity clubhouse on top of over seven acres of surface parking. The project has been endorsed by the Housing Action Coalition.
Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project at 820 West MacArthur Boulevard in Longfellow, Oakland. The project proposal includes merging three lots into one and constructing 92 residential condominiums, ground floor amenity spaces, and private open spaces. The site presently houses a former tire sales and auto service station constructed in 1975 and has been vacant since 2018. Riaz Capital is the applicant and developer involved with the project. 820 MacArthur LLC is the property owner. Levy Design Partners is managing the design concept and construction.
