Developers have filed an application request for demolition of a parking garage on the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center campus to make way for the construction of a new Behavior Health Services Center in Willow Glen, San Jose. The new psychiatric hospital is expected to cost nearly a quarter of a billion dollars. Santa Clara County will run the project.
The city of Oakland has proposed to design and construct a new community center at Mosswood Park, Mosswood, Oakland. The project proposes to create a new hub to offer civic, cultural, educational activities for Oakland residents. Mosswood Park spans eleven acres, located in North Oakland and is surrounded by streets on three sides and the 580 freeway to the south. The objective of the new building project is to create a state-of-the art facility that will foster a sense of community, wellness, recreation and learning.
New planning permits are under review for a four-story senior living project at 3315 Almaden Expressway in South San Jose. The project will provide new residential space in a relatively retail-rich corner of several car-oriented neighborhoods. The project is planned to be immediately adjacent to the Almaden Expressway, which merges with Route 87 to cut through Downtown San Jose. Columbia Pacific Advisors is listed as the project sponsor.
New development permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 469 40th Street in Mosswood, Oakland. The medium-density residential in-fill will add a collection of residences in a transit-rich neighborhood with buses and BART within two blocks. Flynn Architecture is responsible for the design.

The project proposal includes the demolition of a three-story type V single-family residence on the project site and the construction of a five-story type Va residence.
