Construction is progressing quickly for the 173-unit residential building at 1940 Webster Street in downtown Oakland. The seven-story project, also known as Modera Lake Merritt, has topped out, paving the way for construction expected to end by early next year. Mill Creek, a national firm based in Florida, is responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a new residential building at 1358 South Van Ness Avenue in the Mission District, San Francisco. Demolition of the existing single-family dwelling will make way for the four-story infill, matching the height of the building directly to its north. The project will provide six new apartments.
Permits have been filed for a residential expansion at 815 O’Farrell Street in the Tenderloin, San Francisco, along with the renovation of the structure’s interior. Four new residential units are projected to be added on the structure’s first and basement floors, yielding nine additional bedrooms and seven modern bathrooms. One amenity for the apartments is the in-unit dishwasher and a washer/dryer. New windows will also be a part of the project. These new dwelling units will be replacing existing storage facilities.
Recent images show that the recladding and five-story expansion of the office building at 633 Folsom Street, SoMa is nearly complete. The new design is by Gensler, an international architecture firm, with development by the building owner, Swig Company. A future tenant has already been secured by CBRE, Asana, a tech company owned by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz. Occupancy is expected soon.
Recent permits have been filed for phase six and seven of The Asher, a sizeable multifamily development nearing completion at 1031 Walnut Avenue in Fremont, Alameda County. The Asher, located at 1031 Walnut Avenue, will span across two four-story buildings, providing 670 residential units. It will also have two parking towers between five and six floors located in the center. They will hold over 1,150 spots, roughly 1.75 spaces per residential unit, a decision city staff, and developers believe will help discourage car ownership. Carmel Partners are the owners of the development.
