The project proposal includes the development of a four-story mixed-use building offering residential and retail spaces. Plans call for the demolition of the existing structures and trees on the site. Vrilakas Groen Architects is responsible for the design concepts.

The project will create 283 apartments designed for students attending UC Berkeley. The Hub is well located for such a purpose, as it will rise across from the campus’s western entrance. Core Spaces is the project developer.

The project will demolish two single-story commercial buildings to add 210 apartments within walking distance of two BART Stations, with affordable housing thanks to the State Density Bonus program. Grading permits have been filed for Building C3.4 in the redevelopment of Treasure Island in San Francisco. Building C3.4 will create 160 units, a portion of the 8,000-unit masterplan that aims to reshape the artificial island in the center of the bay into a thriving neighborhood with housing, offices, and shops. Lennar Corporation, a Treasure Island Community Development (TICD) venture partner, is responsible for the application.
