SHVO, the new owner of the Transamerica Pyramid and two adjacent buildings, has started renovations of San Francisco’s iconic property with an official ceremony. Though not a traditional groundbreaking event, dirt was shoveled by many important local representatives next to Michael Shvo. Plans for renovating the 50-year-old landmark are designed by Foster + Partners.
The official groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday morning for the Sunnydale Community Center in Visitacion Valley, San Francisco. The project, dubbed the Sunnydale Hub, will create a Wu Yee child care center, the Herz recreation center, and a new clubhouse for the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. The project is part of the Sunnydale HOPE SF master plan by Mercy Housing and Related Companies.
Demolition work is nearly complete at 555 Bryant Street, making way for a new 16-story mixed-use infill in SoMa, San Francisco. The 0.75-acre site will soon be home to 501 apartments nearby a new MUNI Central Subway station and Caltrain. Strada Investment Group is the project developer.
Construction is moving ahead for Bellara, a five-story senior housing project at 1200 A Street in Hayward, Alameda County. The plans will consist of assisted living and memory care facilities nearby the city center. SRM Development is the project developer.
Building permit application has been submitted for a project planned at 469 40th Street in Mosswood, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story apartment complex located two blocks from the MacArthur BART station and AC Transit. Three Steps Properties is the project developer. Flynn Architecture is responsible for the designs. Jett Landscape Architecture is responsible for the landscapes.
