Holland Partner Group has secured a $168 million loan to construct 407 apartments in phase one of Gateway Crossing in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County. The loan comes after work started on the first building earlier this year. Once complete, the Gateway Crossing masterplan will create over a thousand and five hundred homes by Caltrain.
YIMBY has visited the rising neighborhood at Brooklyn Basin, positioned along Oakland’s Embarcadero waterfront. The update shows construction has topped out at Parcel J, and concrete is now rising for Parcel A Phase Two. As of now, there are 1,696 apartments complete or under construction out of an expected total of 3,700 units.
The San Mateo Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for a six-story mixed-use infill at 500 East 4th Avenue in San Mateo County’s namesake city. The project, on Block 20, will produce new office space and a garage capped by 86 homes. Windy Hill Property Ventures is the project developer.

Funding has been secured for a new eight-story student housing project at 2538 Durant Avenue in Southside, Berkeley. ACRES Capital, a national real estate lender, is providing the $10.5 million loan. Valiance Capital is the project developer.
