Clark Construction Group has announced that crews have started construction on the new University of California, San Francisco Clinic Building that will occupy Block 34 in San Francisco’s Mission Bay. The groundbreaking event follows the beginning of construction on a 500-car garage for UCSF in April of this year.

The project will provide a new hub with a capacity for over a thousand employees in a burgeoning mixed-use district. Federal Realty Investment Trust is responsible for the development of Santana West, as well as the busy mixed-use Santana Row plan across the street.

Alterra Worldwide, the project developer, has stated they will use blockchain to raise funds. If built, Tower 27 will add 374 apartments, parking, and retail to the city’s urban core.

Salesforce West, a 600-foot office tower in SoMa, San Francisco, is tied as the 13th tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area planned or built. Located at 50 Fremont Center, the building rises to the same height as 101 California Street and the proposed height of 53 3rd Street. Originally developed by Fremont Properties, the structure has been branded as Salesforce West since the software company acquired the property in 2015 for $637.6 million.
