The project proposal includes the development of a seven-story apartment building offering residential and retail spaces. An existing one-story commercial building will be demolished. Riaz Capital is the project developer. 820 MacArthur is the property owner. Stanley Saitowitz | Natoma Architects Inc is managing the design concepts and construction.

Crane Sections Delivered for 47-Story Tower at 30 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco

Several sections of a construction crane have been delivered yesterday afternoon to 30 Van Ness Avenue, a recently-cleared lot in San Francisco’s Civic Center. Crews finished demolition of the five-story office building this January, and now the site is primed for excavation of the city’s tallest skyscraper in the Hub, and the second tallest in the city after the Transbay Parcel F by Hines and Urban Pacific. Australia-based multinational real estate company Lendlease is the developer and contractor of the 47-story mixed-use proposal.

The project will provide a major tenant and new life to the mall under the Ingka Center’s Livat branding for their new urban shops. Gensler, the original architect, will be responsible for recladding and upgrades to the interior and exterior.

The project is part of the 4,500-unit CityWalk masterplan poised to reshape the heart of the growing Tri-Valley city. Related Companies is the project application.

The proposal, dubbed the Iron Horse Village, would replace commercial buildings with low-density detached and attached housing. Nearon Enterprises, an investment company, based in Walnut Creek, is listed as the property owner. Lennar is the project developer.

Sales have already started, with units selling at $560,000, while the LINE Hotel is preparing to open with 232 guest rooms this September. The project is the work of L37 Partners, with architecture by Handel.

Google Leases 510 Townsend Street in SoMa, San Francisco

Google has leased a whole building in SoMa, San Francisco, to serve as the new offices for the company’s cloud computing division. Reporting from Laura Waxmann in the San Francisco Business Times shows that the Alphabet-owned company is expected to occupy the 300,000 square-foot building at 510 Townsend Street. The lease was signed on June 30th.
