The Draft Environmental Impact Report is now complete, opening up the public review period for a new six-story life sciences building at 405 Industrial Road in San Carlos, San Mateo County. The development will replace a self-storage facility with nearly a quarter million square feet of leasable area. Menlo Equities and Beacon Capital Partners are joint venture partners for the project.
Building permits have been approved for a four-story mixed-use infill at 347 East 18th Street in Oakland’s Merritt neighborhood. The project, dubbed Orchid, will create ground-level retail and 27 new homes, of which three will be affordable. Arris Studio Architects is managing the application on behalf of an El Cerrito-based LLC.
A new residential project has been given approval for development at 6131 Bollinger Canyon in San Ramon. The project proposal includes the development of a seven-story residential building offering dwelling units and onsite amenities. San Francisco-based Related California is the project developer. MVE + Partners is designing the building.
Crews have started preparing for the demolition of a four-story structure ahead of construction of the 19-story apartment block at 1510 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. Helped by an updated California Building Code passed in 2021, 1510 Webster is expected to be the second tallest wooden tower in the county. Oakland-based oWOW is the project developer and architect.
Renderings have been published for the first market hall in East Oakland at 6955 Foothill Boulevard. The project will replace the 1.2-acre Liberation Park with a permanent home to the Akoma farmer’s market next to 120 affordable housing units. Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation is leading the project.
