Plans have been approved for the six-story apartment complex at 11 El Camino Real in San Carlos, San Mateo County. The proposal aims to replace a CVS Pharmacy and surface parking with 242 apartments. Palo Alto-based Summerhill is the project developer.
A ribbon cutting ceremony held earlier this week marked the grand opening of a supportive housing project at 2118 Sacramento Street in Vallejo. The project proposal includes the construction of modular homes offering 75 units of 100% permanent supportive housing to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Eden Housing is the project developer, in partnership with James E. Roberts-Obayashi Corp.
The Berkeley Design Review Committee is scheduled to review plans for the eight-story residential infill at 2480 Bancroft Way in Southside, Berkeley. The project, named ‘The Edge,’ will create 28 large apartments directly across from the UC Berkeley campus, designed to meet the city’s high demand for student living. Ruegg & Ellsworth is responsible for the project as the building owner.
Renderings have been published for the future clubhouse of United Playaz, a 27-year-old non-profit based in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood. The project, aided by $2 million of state funds procured last year, will renovate the existing two-story structure at 1044 Howard Street with a community center. Arquitectonica is the project architect.
Permits were filed seeking the approval of operating a hotel as a semi-congregational shelter at the property site located at 711 Post Street in Lower Nob Hill, San Francisco. The property, Ansonia Hotel, is now operating as a shelter for unhoused individuals and households. Core Hotels, LLC is the property owner. San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing is the project applicant. Urban Alchemy is the group running the shelter.
