New details have been published for two 17-story apartment buildings and a new public park to replace the former Transbay Temporary Bus Terminal in SoMa, San Francisco. Transbay Block 2 and 3 represent two-thirds of the full-block property. The projects are overseen by the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure, i.e., the OCII.
Demolition permits have been filed 389 East Santa Clara Street in Downtown San Jose. The site is currently occupied by surface parking and the remaining elements of the church for the Our Lady of La Vang Parish, which was destroyed by a fire in 2012. Once the property is cleared, construction will begin on a new religious space for the Diocese of San Jose and Our Lady of La Vang Parish. The development project is expected to cost over $50 million.
Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project at 150 Shoreline Highway in Mill Valley. The project proposal includes the development of a two-story mixed-use building offering rental housing units and commercial space. Temenos Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The 18th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built is Four Embarcadero Center, an iconic waterfront landmark in the San Francisco skyline. It is also the tallest of the Embarcadero Center mega-development in the Financial District and the tallest waterfront building in the region. The 570-foot tall tower rises just two feet higher than One Embarcadero Center. As with the rest of the complex, John Portman & Associates were the architects.
San Francisco Planning Commission will be reviewing plans for a new residential project at 952 Carolina Street, Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a new two-unit residential building. Plans call for the demolition of an existing single-family dwelling on the site. Selander Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
