Development permits were submitted for the approval of constructing a multi-family housing project at 447 N 1st Street in Ryland, San Jose. The project proposal includes constructing an apartment building with 115 units. Count documents revealed that the project successfully garnered financing for the pre-development stages from Google Endeavor, a unit of Alphabet, the owner of Google.
Construction has finished for the forty-story tower at 385 14th Street in Downtown Oakland. Completed this year, the Atlas is now the second tallest building in the city and the tallest apartment building in Oakland at 400 feet. It includes 633 units on top of 17,350 square feet of retail. Carmel Partners is the developer, with Greystar managing the marketing and leasing.
KTGY Architects have filed preliminary planning permits for a new seven-story residential building at 905 North Capitol Avenue in Alum Rock, San Jose. The project will provide a significant residential addition to an area with existing mid-density projects, public transit, and large retail shops nearby.

Conditional Use Authorization has been submitted for the demolition of an existing two-story, type 5 single-family residence. The project proposal includes constructing a new four-story, type 5b condominium building with three units. John Lum Architecture is managing the design concepts and construction of the housing project.
Recent permits have shown activity for developing an eight-story affordable housing project at 21 North 21st Street in Roosevelt Park, within walking distance from Downtown San Jose. The development will produce 79 affordable housing units and one manager’s apartment. The First Community Housing organization is responsible for the project, known as the Roosevelt Park Apartments.
