Renderings have been published for an eight-story mixed-use development at 1598 University Avenue in Central Berkeley. The project will demolish two single-story commercial buildings to add 210 apartments within walking distance of two BART Stations, with affordable housing thanks to the State Density Bonus program. Trachtenberg Architects is responsible for the design.
Remodeling has been proposed for a commercial building at 140 Promenade Circle in Sacramento. The project proposal includes the conversion of an extended stay hotel into a permanent apartment building. Jamboree Housing Corporation is the project developer. Kuchman Architects is responsible for the design concepts.
Grading permits have been filed for Building C3.4 in the redevelopment of Treasure Island in San Francisco. Building C3.4 will create 160 units, a portion of the 8,000-unit masterplan that aims to reshape the artificial island in the center of the bay into a thriving neighborhood with housing, offices, and shops. Lennar Corporation, a Treasure Island Community Development (TICD) venture partner, is responsible for the application.
Less than one year after acquiring the waterfront property, Landsea Homes has broken ground on the townhomes component of Alameda Marina, a master-planned community with affordable housing in Alameda, across the water from Oakland and in view of Brooklyn Basin. The development, designed by KTGY, will create 182 townhomes, with sales starting later this year.
