City Staff Recommends Approval for Final Development Permits of Parcel D in Brooklyn Basin, Oakland

Anton DevCo is poised to receive approval for Parcel D’s Final Development Permit along the Oakland waterfront. The proposed residential building will rise at One Ninth Avenue. Parcel D is part of the twelve-building Brooklyn Basin development master plan that is transforming an industrial portion of Oakland’s waterfront adjacent to the Jack London district. Anton DevCo is responsible for the development after purchasing the rights to develop in 2019. Signature Development and Reynolds & Brown manage the 3,100-unit masterplan for Brooklyn Basin.

San Francisco Central Subway To Reach Construction Milestone Ahead of 2022 Opening

The San Francisco Examiner has reported that the SFMTA Board of Directors expects major infrastructure work to be completed by March 31st for the city’s new Central Subway Project. The project is a 1.7-mile extension of the Muni Metro light rail’s T Third Line, adding four new light rail stations from SoMa to Chinatown, three of which will be underground. The existing light rail system has seven lines stopping at 120 different locations. The Central Subway Project has been in the works since the Federal Transit Administration approved preliminary engineering in 2002. The four stations are expected to begin operation in the Spring of 2022.

Construction has topped out for the U-shaped five-story Element Hotel by Marriott, confirmed by a recent site visit to the property at 1130 Champions Drive in Newhall, San Jose. The new building will span 115,000 square feet, producing 175 guest rooms immediately opposite the San Jose Earthquakes soccer stadium and the city’s international airport. The project, led by Nexus Development, is part of a much larger mixed-use plan, the Coleman Highline.
