Palo Alto-based Alta Housing has topped out for a 100 percent affordable housing project at 950 West El Camino Real, in Mountain View. Photos by SFYIMBY show that construction has topped out, glass installation is underway, and facade installation is being prepped for the residential complex. Van Meter Williams Pollack is the architecture firm managing the design concept and construction. Hill Associates is the landscape architect.

The building will produce hundreds of new residential units along with retail and a public plaza. The Prometheus Real Estate Group is responsible for the project.

A project review application has been submitted for a project at 67-69 Belcher Street in Duboce Triangle, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a new five-story building with off-street parking spaces. The existing two-story single-family dwelling will be demolished. The 37th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built is 100 Pine Center at 100 Pine Street, the former headquarters for Continental Insurance in San Francisco’s Financial District. The building is tied with 45 Fremont Street with a rooftop height of 476 feet. The Bay Area design firm, Hertzka and Knowles, is responsible for the design.

Facade Installation Complete at 3200 Scott Boulevard, Santa Clara

Facade work is wrapping up on 3200 Scott Boulevard, a six-story project called the San Tomas Square office building in Santa Clara. The 230,500 square foot office building is located just a block from the clover intersection with 101 and the San Tomas Expressway. Los Angeles and Shanghai-based Verse Design is responsible for the architecture, while MDY Properties is the project developer and owner.

Design Review Occurring Today For 1225 65th Street, Emeryville

Emeryville Planning Commission will be conducting a third study session to review a proposal for a new four-story building at 1225 65th Street, Emeryville. The project proposal consists of a residential complex with twenty-four units with on-site parking. The project requires a major design review, a conditional use permit for 100 bonus points, a variance to eliminate the required three-foot setback on the west side of the property, and a tree removal permit for a tree on 65th Street to provide sidewalk improvements.

A recent site visit shows facade installation is all but done for the three office buildings at 60 and 134 East Brokaw Road and along Bering Road in North San Jose. The three buildings comprise phase two of the vehicle-oriented Brokaw Road offices project, a multi-million square foot addition by the San Jose international airport. Peery-Arrillaga is the project owner and developer.

The Target Corporation has requested a project review meeting to consider a new retail location in an existing mixed-use building at 1336 Post Street in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco. If built, the new Target would span 34,600 square feet, a significant footprint but is just a third of Target’s typical stores. Given the exploratory condition of the proposal, it is too early to speculate about the broader implications of the project review meeting request.
